"From the Floating World" by Carole Houlston
Face down in a puddle,
hair Ophelia-spread,
my head bears a rainbow halo.
Scum sticks to my cheek
and the world distorts
as I turn to eye the sky.
Grey clouds shift,
scudding past at speed –
a pirate fleet sailing past my waiting arms.
hair Ophelia-spread,
my head bears a rainbow halo.
Scum sticks to my cheek
and the world distorts
as I turn to eye the sky.
Grey clouds shift,
scudding past at speed –
a pirate fleet sailing past my waiting arms.
